CEO Committee member Becky Reed visited the class on Wed of this past week to further discuss the upcoming festivals and the CEO class involvement recently approved by the committee. Her contribution included funding for the banner and possibly some of the other festival items currently under discussion by the class. In addition, she made the offer of providing a Kuerig machine for the class, snacks and other items the students (and facilitator) might need as they start their day. One student didn’t realize you could make tea with a Kuerig and, when that was made known, thought it was a great idea! My observation was the class was surprised by her offer and appeared hesitant to immediately accept. However, their enthusiasm to accept turned very positive only after she left, and they realized what she had offered. Becky also talked about her experience and insight in starting and growing a business and the hard work involved. She provided several good “nuggets” (my term) of wisdom related to those experiences. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm got the students off to a very productive class!
