The ability to adapt to change is important for any business. This was one of the many nuggets of advice Veronica Trabant, Branch Manager and Assistant Vice President of Regions bank told the CEO class on Tues, 10 Dec. She also briefed the class on basic financial management skills that are important both in personal life and business. She talked about the process of approving a loan and that not all requests are approved. The Regions’ corporate office is the final approval authority but the recommendation by the local branch has considerable influence. It is often the case a person starts out with questionable credit history but can work to improve, sometimes in small steps, and eventually obtain a loan. The business plan is an important part of the application process and must include the overall thinking through of the business model. Fraud is another area she discussed and mentioned how the older generation is targeted and can be duped due to their trusting nature. She provided a lot of insight on small business loans and overall branch management!
