Paragon Force, a small business south of Bloomfield, was visited by the Greene County CEO students on 13 Nov. The company designs, fabricates and installs specialized foam packaging for highly sensitive and expensive equipment for Crane and the military. The company, though small, has a working history that grew out of a need to protect equipment shipped all over the world. Starting with a machine provided by Crane, the company has grown steadily in capability and size. Packaging is often the underrated or least considered part of the equipment life cycle but the most critical in ensuring the equipment works as designed when arriving at the final destination. To this end, Paragon has demonstrated with specialized equipment the ability to design and produce the applicable foam product to meet the need. They provided their newly designed, reconfigurable foam that can accommodate various configurations of encased equipment. It was also fun to play with. “Kinda like legos” was a comment from one of the students. Working with various types of foam, different type of foam cutters and specialized glue makes for an interesting day. The students observed this was another example of a small company in Greene County with worldwide distribution! It was so interesting the facilitator (me) forgot to take photos!! Sorry!
