The brewery business is booming— and Greene County CEO students got to learn what the industry is all about by meeting with Feed Store Beer Co. owner, Steve Corbin.

Bloomfield native Steve and his wife, Stacey, opened Feed Store Beer Co. in October of 2020. They totally overhauled a 100-year-old building that was the former Holtsclaw’s Standard Feed Store on Bloomfield’s west side. Students got to tour the business, seeing the process of making and serving beer from the hops to the taps. Steve shared how he was able to find and maintain all of the major equipment that goes into a brewery along with some of the challenges he faced. The idea for this business bloomed from Steve’s hobby of home beer brewing and from his love for his community. Steve shared with students about the importance of investing in the community and added that it’s not just about making money. That’s why Feed Store Beer Co. hosts several special things like Feed Store Run Club. Steve says it was created to bring positive change by promoting an active and social environment where people can come together. People of all ages can choose to run or walk different courses each Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Steve currently serves as a mentor for our CEO program and has previously served on the panel for student business pitch day. Thank you, Steve Corbin, for the impressive tour and for sharing your small business success story with Greene County CEO!
