HAPPENING NOW! — Greene County CEO is inside the commercial kitchen of The Sweet Poppy in Linton! We’re learning all about the business of baking from owner, Samantha Smith!🎂
Samatha is a self-taught baker who started making her daughter’s birthday cakes. She then took custom orders for family & friends, and before she knew it… she had a business! The class asked Samantha about how she came up with her business name, health department inspections, reaching customers, and if she has plans for a storefront in the future. Samantha had this advice for our entrepreneurial students, “You have to spend money to make money. Whether that’s on ingredients or equipment or a storefront, you have to invest in your business. Be consistent with your product, service, and how you treat your customers. My customers have turned into my friends.”
Thank you for an insightful business visit, Samantha! Oh, and thank you for the delicious, sweet cinnamon rolls too!
