Success is worth celebrating. It is also worth studying.
Today, the Class of 2027 spent our class time completing an After Action Report on our Name Badge Business, which the class successfully marketed and sold to Refreshment Services Pepsi of Quincy. Instead of simply moving on to the next project, we went back through the entire experience: our original plan, what actually happened, what worked, what didn’t, how we operated as a team, and what we would do differently next time.
The class identified some real wins, including communication, collaboration, meeting deadlines, dividing responsibilities, and delivering what we promised. They also had to be honest about where the process could have been better, from planning and accountability to communication and execution.
Experiences are valuable, but experience by itself doesn’t guarantee growth. We have to take the time to evaluate what happened, understand why it happened, and carry those lessons into the next opportunity. That is especially important right now as the class prepares to take what they learned from the Name Badge Business and apply it to a much larger Class Business.
The Name Badge Business was their first real test. Now we build on it.
