Business Visit: Village of Goreville

This morning, our CEO class had the opportunity to visit the Village of Goreville and hear from local leadership, including Mayor Larry Vaughn, Trustees Jim McNamara and Wes Chisman, and Village Clerk Kaylee Chisman.

During our visit, they provided valuable insight into how TIF (Tax Increment Financing) funds are utilized to support and attract new businesses to the community. Students gained a deeper understanding of how strategic funding can drive local economic growth and create new opportunities.

They also shared details about the recent expansion of the village boundary to include a peninsula on Lake of Egypt—an initiative that has brought added value not only to residents but to the entire community.

We appreciate the time they took to engage with our students, ask thoughtful questions, and learn more about the CEO program. We are grateful to the Village of Goreville for their continued support as an investor in our program!
