Job Title: Community Growth Specialist

Job Title Summary:

The Community Growth Specialist is a mission-driven sales and relationship role, responsible for expanding the CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities) Program nationwide. This position combines business development with community engagement by cultivating new partnerships, managing a pipeline of potential communities, and guiding them from initial interest through successful program launch.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with local and regional leaders to identify communities ready to start a CEO Program.
  • Proactively develop and manage a pipeline of prospective communities interested in CEO.
  • Represent and promote Midland Institute’s mission to educators, business leaders, chambers of commerce, and economic development professionals.
  • Stay connected with potential communities through calls, emails, Zoom meetings, and in-person presentations.
  • Achieve growth goals by guiding communities from initial interest through successful program launch.
  • Support new communities during their start-up phase — coordinating marketing, training, and materials.
  • Guide and coach community steering committees through challenges during launch.
  • Help maintain accurate records and updates in our CRM system and CEO+ platform.
  • Work closely with the Community Growth & Engagement team and the broader MIE staff to ensure successful launches.

Skills and Competencies Required:

  • Candidate must be able to travel up to 50% of the time 
  • Candidate must be highly skilled in building and managing relationships, connects easily with people and is an excellent listener
  • Candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced position and must demonstrate an openness to feedback with an ability to adapt and make changes based on that feedback
  • History of sales and/or business development experience with a good track record of growth and reaching goals idea
