This is CEO member Addison Fulk. We have just completed the book Things You Wish You Knew Yesterday, written by the architect of the CEO program, Craig Lindvahl. My favorite chapter in the book is titled “Ignorance vs. Stupidity.” I related to this chapter because it explained the difference between not knowing something and refusing to learn something. Ignorance is simply a lack of knowledge, while stupidity comes from ignoring opportunities to grow and improve. This chapter reminded me that everyone starts somewhere, and asking questions or making mistakes is part of learning. However, choosing not to learn from mistakes can hold someone back from success. One quote from the chapter that stood out to me was about how growth only happens when we are willing to learn and accept new ideas. As a student and future entrepreneur, this chapter encouraged me to stay open-minded, continue learning from others, and never be afraid to admit when I do not know something. I believe this mindset will help me become a better leader, student, and future business owner.
